The "other language rule"

Hey hey hey kids its old Caleb again, as many people know, I was warned today for speaking another language, and it was gibberish, and if I was speaking another language, I should not have been punished before.
The rule is because some people might use another language as a route to attack or cuss to another player.
Most players who speak another language are not toxic, they should not have to be punished for not knowing English on a public Minecraft server. Today, futte's sister was speaking dutch I thought, and I translated everything she said using the google translator, I did type dutch to English, and it was not dutch, but google thought I was saying danish, and it was danish. You do not have to have to be punished for not knowing another language when you can do this, it takes 30 seconds of your time, 30 seconds. I understand that staff don't want to do that but people don't want to be banned either.

Wow, you seem upset. I did get upset because I was warned for literal gibberish, and if I was speaking another language, I would still be upset, but thank you for calling me a retard I appreciate the hate from you, very nice and normal I suppose.

Honestly I think that rule is a bit harsh to enforce. Not everyone speaks English and therefore we shouldn't force them to speak our language. For them, it would be like us joining a server that said only French in chat and if not you'd get warned / muted / banned temporarily for not knowing a language.

We shouldn't force players to only speak in one language, English, on the server. It allows for diversity. Also the excuse of "use /msg to talk in another language" isn't much help at all if they don't understand what you are saying. It also doesn't help them, should they understand it, to try and find someone else to chat too who speaks the same language because, as soon as they type in their own language they'll get warned for it.

Obviously I enforced this "rule" when I was staff because it was expected of us to do so but I didn't agree with it and I thought it should've been removed and had said so to, at the time, the admin, Tuneful.

Also, who really cares if they are speaking another language in chat? If it's anything bad one of the players would most likely tell you and if not, someone else will probably understand it and can inform you about it.

In conclusion, I think the rule should be removed...

I spent a lot of time yesterday just talking to these kind of players, alerting them that it is an English speaking server. People even translated to said players telling them the same information. I'm too leanient towards players. However, when it comes to very frequent players talking "gibberish" (which still isn't English) then tbh a verbal should't do. Caleb knew the rules as he applied for staff and stated in the application thet he's read the rules ect. Yet I still get slated by Mr13YearOldFrroosst What a tool.

My apology for the warn to you yesterday though. However, you did need that one regardless.

Why do staff claim that they don't HAVE to explain anything to players though? I thought communication for the players was key for your role? fkn stoopid

No I do not think he was apologizing for your warn trash but for mine. Your warn I believe had true intentions and there is a major difference in what I said than what you said. I was speaking freaking a german hybrid I guess lol, while you were cussing, please people do not try to compare what I said to what trash said. I really think trash could not have done that on accident, and what I said was intentional I am just gonna say it. alright that's it, time to go scrub my elephant.

Thank you for submitting a suggestion, after reviewing this we have altered the punishment slightly. Players will now be warned verbally before punishment is enforced & told to use other languages in private messages only.
